Cannabis cultivation presents challenges for growers, among them, the relentless threat of pathogens like many species of the genus Fusarium. This species is a well-known water mold that causes wilt, and crown and root rot in various plants, including Cannabis. These diseases can diminish yields and compromise plant health. 

TUMI Genomics offers a range of testing services, including single and multiple pathogen tests for detecting  Fusarium alone or in combination with other common pathogens such as Fusarium and Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd). 

Our Fusarium diagnostic assay uses TaqMan qPCR technology to identify several pathogenic Fusarium species within Cannabis plants. This assay employs primer/probe sets targeting the Fusarium genome alongside an endogenous plant transcript, serving as an internal control. By detecting a target that's present in all cannabis tissues, the assay ensures confirmation of sample integrity, successful nucleic acid extraction, and activity of reaction components across all samples.

How to use the Fusarium test kit from TUMI Genomics

1. Purchase Tests: Choose the required number of tests for each pathogen (10 order minimum). Only one test per plant is needed.

2. Receive Test Kit: We will ship barcoded collection tubes and sample collection instructions within 36 hours of order receipt.

3. Sample Collection: Follow the sample collection guide to add plant root tissue to the collection tubes.

4. Return Test Kit: Return samples to the TUMI Genomics lab. We are permitted to accept domestic and international samples.

5. Receive Results: Within 48 hours of receiving your samples, the lab team will email your results in a PDF.
